The relationship between these two ancient Countries believed to have started 500 Years BC which goes back to the Han Dynasty of China and the two countries established official relationship and opened Embassies in their respective capitals in 1972. Currently Ethiopia and China are elevating their trade and investment sectors.
The Chinese Grand Global Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) connects Ethiopia Via its Djibouti Port. Chairman Mao Zedong was one of the admirers of the Ethiopian people for their bravery in defending their country and independence. He used to mention the victory of Ethiopia as an examples when he spoke and motivated the then Red Army. This has been written and documented in his books.
